Michael is also survived by his parents, Michael and Dana Metz of Warwick, and his sister, Daniella Ciampanelli, with whom he shared a special bond. His extended family includes numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, nieces, and a nephew who will always remember him with deep affection. He was predeceased by his mother, Theresa Scriber, and brother, Shane DeSimone, whose memories he carried close to his heart.

Michael devoted his career to healthcare, serving as a hospice registered nurse at Hope Health. In this role, he provided comfort, care, and dignity to patients and their families during life’s most challenging moments. His commitment to service extended to his earlier work in the Rhode Island Hospital Emergency Room, where his calm and compassionate demeanor made a lasting impact.
Before transitioning into nursing, Michael served as a cardiac EMT with the North Scituate Fire Department. Whether in his roles as an EMT, ER nurse, or hospice caregiver, Michael’s dedication to helping others was unwavering.
A Spirited Personality and Passionate Hobbyist
Beyond his professional achievements, Michael’s vibrant personality and sense of humor brought joy to those around him. He had a natural gift for making others laugh and feel at ease, creating lasting bonds with friends and family alike.
Michael’s love for muscle cars, trucks, and motorcycles reflected his adventurous spirit and zest for life. These hobbies brought him joy and allowed him to connect with others who shared his enthusiasm for these pursuits.

Friends and family are invited to celebrate Michael’s life during visiting hours on Wednesday, December 4, 2024, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at The Butterfield Chapel, located at 500 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston, Rhode Island. Burial services will be private, offering Michael’s loved ones a moment of reflection and remembrance.
